Happy New Year! 🎆
I hope you all had a fantastic New Year and are settling in now that we are halfway through the first week back to work in 2026. My mom and I have spent the last three work days congratulating ourselves on waking up on time, cutting down the sugar, and actually trying to get our steps in and we have our 2026 goals for Serenity & Bliss hanging where we can see them the wall directly next to our desks, forcing us to look at them every day and keep it together. And I am sure that we are not alone. January is the time of year when everyone is trying to start the new year off with a bang. We are drinking our water, hitting the gym, and reorganizing the chaos that our closet has become.
Now, I will be the first to admit that these are admirable resolutions. We should focus on doing what we can to make ourselves feel healthier and happier all year long, but if you are anything like me (or statistically most of America), resolution lists get a lot smaller by the time February is approaching.
So...this year I am proposing a new kind of resolution, and it is simple.
Put something on the calendar that is just for YOU!
That's it. It doesn't have to be something crazy, but get something on your calendar that is all for you - your wellness, your relaxation, your chance to spend time with your family, your pop-culture addiction. Make a resolution that you are actually truly excited to keep this year.
Not sure where to start? Check your current mood and see which "2026 Travel Challenge" fits you best:
Feeling Adventurous? Let's Check Something off the Bucket List: Everyone has their bucket list destinations, whether you want to cruise to Antarctica or lounge on the beach in Thailand. This could be your year! You don't have to travel in 2026, but let's start planning. The earlier you budget and plan the more achievable your travel dreams may seem!

Feeling Overworked? Time for a "do-nothing" escape:
If 2025 left you feeling drained, you don't need a sightseeing trip; you need a recharge. Escape to an All-Inclusive resort or a beachside villa where your hardest decision of the day is "pool or beach?" and "margarita or piña colada?"

Feeling Spontaneous? The "weekend warrior" trip is for you:
Maybe you can't take two weeks off work, and that is okay - I mean, who can? But the US is full of amazing destinations that you can explore on a long weekend or even on a regular weekend! Challenge yourself to explore a new US city for a long weekend. A quick trip to Boston, Chicago, or Charleston can scratch that travel itch without using up all or any of your PTO.

Feeling Obsessed? Time to explore your obsession firsthand: Constantly relistening to your favorite K-Pop album? Still thinking about the scenery in White Lotus? Or maybe you are a Disney adult at heart? Lean into your obsession! Travel to the filming locations of your favorite show, explore the streets your celebrity crushes walk on, or visit the theme parks that bring your fandom to life. In the opinion of this constantly obsessed multi-stan who is currently spending all hours of the day thinking about and watching "Heated Rivalry", let's let 2026 be the year of the "Fan-cation."

Feeling Disconnected? The "Quality Time" Trip:
Sometimes life is chaotic, and we often spend our days stressed rather than connected. Plan a trip with your partner, your best friends, or your family (small or large) where there are no dishes to wash and no schedule to keep. Just pure, uninterrupted time together. Travel can be an amazing way to reconnect with the ones you love - especially when you don't have to do the planning!

We are only seven days into 2026, and the rest of the year is a blank slate. I used to believe that travel was out of my reach—that it was too expensive or too stressful—but that doesn't have to be the case. Traveling is the perfect way to relax, make new memories, and fill your year with excitement and joy. You don't have to travel now, but start making a plan! Get excited for those New Year's resolutions and explore the world around you.
Just remember, we are always here to help ensure you spend your time on the type of trip you love, doing the things you love to do, with the people who mean everything to you! Send us an email or schedule a time to chat on our website. We can help you plan, or even just help you figure out how to fit travel into your 2026.
If budget and time were unlimited, where is the first place you would go this year? Let us know in the comments!

I would absolutely 100% go to Thailand and stay in the Rosewood Bangkok. It is one of my bucket list hotels because it was the filming location of one of my favorite shows, but I am nowhere near affording it right now lol.
